So, as I sit here writing this post, I regret having gotten beasted on my bed yesterday and thus waking up late today. I've got a lot of stuff to do, some of them that I have to do, others that I guess I just want to do, but feel as I should do. (Sort of like writing an email to an old friend I haven't talked to in a while, just to find out how he's doing.) Fellowshp tonight is going to include a planning meeting for the next month, so most likely after tonight, I'll have more things on my "to do" list. At the same time, some comrades of mine will probably just have started watching 300. And also, over in Waterloo, Lifesong should be just about ending. Now, if it weren't for the fact that it was actually based on a historical event, I wouldn't really be that interested in seeing it, since it just seems full of a lot of pointless violence and gore. I wonder how much of it would actually be historically accurate? The trailer was pretty good though, I'll have to admit. The cheesy but still funny lines of:
"Our arrows will blot out the sun!"
"Then we shall fight in the shade."
I thought were pretty interesting, and the last part seemed to be something I could imagine a Spartan saying. :P All in all...I'll look forward to hearing about the movie tomorrow at breakfast. I hope the usual crew of people end up going. It's one thing to see people in a virtual world, it's another to see them in person.
Now, why am I posting this instead of actually doing some of the other stuff I mentioned above? Well...part of the reason would be feeling tired and lack of motivation...hmm...now I think this is a familiar situation. :P

You and Wen have the same blog post title! Anyway, I might want to see this movie again. So maybe I'll go see it with you!
First of all, if you are looking for historical accuracy, you will be sorely disappointed. You will like 300 if you like pretty pictures and intense violence.
Second, the fact that Alan and I used the same title is just a coincidence. It's actually kind of creepy :)
Oh, and about that quote. It is kind of cheesy, but it is based on actual accounts (well, if you believe everything that Herodotus wrote, anyway).
Ah, right, I read about that in the wiki. I thought it's pretty cool, heh. And also the throwing the messengers down the well part is accurate too.
I was wondering about that. Why would the Spartan village have a big bottomless hole in the middle? And why would the messenger stand there?
